So as some of you might have read after the Ebay action was over I reached out to the owner of the "Sam Snead" BMW to see what kind of deal I could wrangle. Well it turned out that it was in fact Sam's daughter who owned the car and her friend had listed it for her. So after a very few and very quick back and forths with her husband a great guy, we decided on an equitable price and basically site unseen and with much angst I swallowed hard and bought it.

Then things took a sudden and unexpected turn for the better[3]. Having previously bought and shipped another Ebay car (NYC to Canada was more than I had paid for the car) to Miller Performance was disappointed to find it was not the right base for a project to the scale which Dan was going to take it on. A pretty nice chunk of change basically down the drain.... BTW anyone want to buy a fairly nice project car in Vancouver in Dan's parking lot[:((][:((].....lmao[2]

Ok back on target now, so I immediately called Dan and found that not only was he on his US Tour schedule, but he was on his final leg of the journey and would be less than 150 miles from my new prize!! Dan agreed to depart from the company of his Vice-President and road mate Brody Saari, inspect and pick her up if he deemed her appropriate (which he did and raved about the interior, but the paint and body....well not so much...) and took on the monumental task of driving her all the way back home from Hot Springs Virginia home of the late Sam Snead to us border nearly 3,000miles( Mapquest:Total Est. Time: 43 hours, 8 minutes Total Est. Distance: 2921.16 miles Is this guy the ultimate BMW fanatic or what??)

So I think in respect to the late great Golfer, Dan Miller and Brodi Sarri of Miller Performance, Scotty for the site, and not the least of which my sad and very quickly decimated bank account[help][help]I have decided to chart what I am confident will one day very soon be a master piece. I will follow up with pictures and a "blog" of the steps and progress being made as they become available.

The project is based on an agreement and the following criteria between Miller Performance[./][./] and myself and are really quite simple-

Build the baddest, fastest, meanest, prettiest, shiniest, most technologically advanced 745i possible, whilst retaining most of the outward appearance of a mild-mannered luxury sedan and doing so for nearly $100,000 less than anything close to it rolling off todays Production lines.

The only variances to this "original" theme will be lowering the suspension adding a BIG ASS Brake kit, super nice rims, and probably 19" wheels. Of course all this deception will be for naught when either the hood is opened or the throttle is pressed as the 12-injector plate helps the new bearing turbo rapidly spools up and is cooled through the air to water cooler as it roars through a new dual 2 1/2' stainless exhaust and they lose me in the distance[21)]....insert maniacal laugh here....

Ohh by the way I have all the original paperwork signed in Sam Snead's original hand, tracking the car and deliver from Germany all the way to the dealer in Florida and then up to Virginia (very cool for both a BMW enthusiast as well as a golfer such as myself!)

Congrats!! The Miller guys are the best. True professional in every way.

We might be competing for the most bad ass 500 BHP 745. Dan has mine right now and a pretty much no limit budget, so hopefully we can both gain from some combined R&D from our cars to benefit us both and anyone else crazy enough to embark on such a task.

They're in progress on my 500 BHP e34 monster. All I can say is no one is going to know what hit them when this hits the streets. Its going to be pretty sick. The quality and R&D theyre putting into it is over the top.

But my heart is with the 745's. Cant wait to eat the new M5.

Keep us posted and congrats, and good chioce to go with Miller, I've been more than satisfied with everything.

Hey Vincent,

I went to check on Johnny and to my surprise he had done the one side of your car early this morning. As you can see in the pictures, its been stripped and smoothed out with a bit of filler here and there to make it smoother than you know what. Also in one of the pictures you will notice the bumper up on the hanger. They had mickey moused some 'rebar' into it to meet federal safety, so there are some bolts that can't be dealt with. Its no problem, just letting you know so that if for some reason you ever need to unbolt the cladding from that bumper, you won't be able to without hacking the heck out of it.

Johnny says next week the car will be ready for prep and paint. They
will most likely get it prepped and primed and then it will sit under a car cover until its ready to be painted.

I know you guys have a holiday coming up (4th of July) so If I don't
talk to you again before that have a good one!
