I've been looking at this Miller MAF. Nice!
The chip that comes with this fits a M5 079 ECU? Right?
With that chip installed the car will run?
It is that chip that can then be programmed with a laptop for your specific engine with performance upgrades. Is there software for doing this?
Any mass buy potential?
I know of a few e-28 guys that might like this unit.

Yes, this works with the 079.

No the chip is not programmed with your laptop. To do that you need the optional "Tuner's Kit". The Tuners Kit comes with software and serial cable.

Yes, I will gladly negotiate a group deal. Email me and I'll send you my phone #.

Scottie,

Thanks for the reply. I put the word out to guys that have shown interest so far.
Send me your phone number and when I get some guys interested I will give you a call.
The tuner's kit would then allow me to adjust for my increased performance equipment like, cams and headers. right? What $ for the tuners kit?
Thanks,
Gary

So Scottie, if I buy just the MAF unit, it comes with a chip and why is that?
This chip is probably for a stock M5.
I currently have a custom chip for the cams and headers, so wouldn't I be giving up the HP of my chip for the HP gain of the MAF.
About a wash or close.
I just spent $600 and didn't gain any HP.
The tuner's kit would take care of this but I don't think I want to put out $1k for both at least not all at once.
Is this pretty accurate?

The reason the MAF kit comes with a chip is that we reprogram the Motronic to understand the signal coming from the MAF sensor. There are no piggy back boxes required.

If you send your current chip to us, we can use that program as a starting point when we create your MAF chip. So you would not lose anything. There will be a small fee for this. $50 or so.

Hey,
Hit man X. I haven't come up with any other buyers as of yet.
Are you in a hurry to do this install?
If not let me keep trying to find a couple more buyers. [ye]
