Project: BMW e30 345i
Car model : e30 323i
donor car: bmw 745i m102 automatic gearbox
new Gearbox: z-getribe (reverse) from e28 m535
Diff: LSD 325i

Building for: drag racing use

I know that the engine has 252 hp. What interests me is how to improve the power of engine, what is the limit with factory setup (pistons, crankshaft) How much can I raise the pressure of turbo? Which injectors to put? NOS ?

To make the long story short, we are interested in 11 sec / 1/4mile car.

I am sorry for my poore English, and hope for answers..

regards from Belgrade

The English is fine. :D

The main limiting factor of the stock motor is the size of the turbocharger, it drops off sharply past 5000rpm.

Then the camshaft. Finally the flow of the cylinder head.

11s will be very easy if you can drive, put the power down, and get the vehicle tuned properly

This is my sig...

hi bro i am using original 745i but motronic i am doing 8.5s 1/4 mile i fixed it on e21 i am using 735i motronic ecu but original airflow meter ,ecu 011 give u 5800rpm /ecu 040 give u 6200
ecu 043 give u 6500 but u need a solenoid to close the return hose you will be short off fuel on 3 guear end and 4th speed ,dont use reverse gear is to short for turbo ,if u use 15' rims u can use 2-9lsd will keep u the torque ,if u using 17' rims u needgo for 3.4,
it can easily get boost up to 1.1 bar

This is my first turbo engine project. I have e30 m3 with e34 m5 engine, and reverse gearbox. It goes 100km/h in 1st gear. And 12sec/1/4 mile .So far I did only normaly asspirated engines.

What gearbox U recommend for me to use? factory is automatic.

U go 8.5s on 1/4 mile with factory tune in e21 ?

I am also interested what fuel pump U used? I saw that u have factory IC. Do I need bigger? rims will be 15 , with M/T(mickey thompson)drag tires.

Tnx in advance

8,5s 1/4mile????? can you please explain this?

for 11s run you should have at least +400hp
you need a bigger turbo (Holset HX55 or alike), better exhaust manifold, bigger injectors and a programmable system to tune the engine. The stock engine will handle quite well 400hp if tuned properly!

hi timmo6 8.5 seconds for 1/4 mile i use the wiring off 735 motronic with it ecu 043.cause if i use the original wiring for 745 i cant run it on manual and if it can be done i dont know how . i am using getrag gear box 262 and automatic e21 rear axle welded , but the drive shaft from nissan blie bird SSS original one always got broken MT is the best tyre for grip i am using a solenoid on the petrol return hose i close it from the gear handle on the third gear when i reach 4k rpm not to have lean off petrol end off third gear .i know you guys feel i am a bit retarded but belive me its so hard to find parts in this area my airflow meter took one month to get it .if my grip is good i cross the 1/4 in 8.5 or 8.6s
and i also fixed earlier an ALPINA B7 engine into a e21 that was a wild car but we never took time for it my fuel pump are original bosh 04 i am using 4 pumps

fuel pumps

drive shaft

Andre,
How much boost do you run?
You can run it with the original ECU and manual gearbox if you make a few wiring connections.

Do you have any idea how much power it'll take to push that car into the middle 8s in the 1/4 mile? That's trapping ~150-155mph usually. I'd say it'd take an easy 1100-1300hp to do something like that.

I do not see any way in hell in the cars current state it'll do that. The amount of chassis flex alone will hurt that car.

That video sure doesn't look like it either, perhaps 1/8th mile?
