Hey Guys... I am finally getting around to fixing my ABS and could use a little help. Last spring I did new struts and replaced all the front end parts. Since then, my ABS light comes on after the car is moving faster than a couple MPH's. I am pretty sure this is self inflicted after being too aggressive re-installing the front speed sensors, and pulled too hard on the wire when seating them in their clips. The sensors are like $150 ea. so I am want to confirm before taking that medicine.
I found this in the archives here:
quote: - If the ABS light comes on after you start rolling, chances are one of the sensors is faulty. The wires flex and fail inside the insulation. Definitive test is with an ohmmeter on the connector to the ABS brain above the fuel injection ECU above the glovebox. Details in Bentley and elsewhere.
I put an ohm meter on the computer side of the sensor connectors. I got 19.1K Ohms on the right side and 19.3K ohms on the left side. As for the sensors, I got 1.05 and 1.03 K Ohms on the right and left sensors. But I don't know what resistance I should be seeing.
So back to the quote above, can someone help me with the details of the tests to make, and what the results should be?
I appreciate any help!
Thanks! Craig
