AdamJon is right. The TIS I just purchased does not cover anything short of the E30. It covers the E30 up to current models. Now that would be fine if I drove a current model, but.......... ATB, Adam
dnliiiHey guys- Even though the e23 is not listed on the opening page- input your e23 vin # and the program should work for you. I get all the torque values for my e23 off the tis.

AdamWith the TIS you can also go to the Vehicle ID page, and use the last #'s from the Vin, or go the long route, but the VIN procedure doesn't give me the specific year and I get some ambiguous diagrams mixed in with the rest. Also, on the 2001 ETK as long as you punch in all the particulars like the last #'s of the Vin, and then go to vehicle ID you can get e23 specific info also !! Both CD's look over their shoulder so to speak, not just the new model stuff like I originally thought. If you have the 2000HTK though the 2001ETK will wipe it out on install. Anybody want a 2000 HTK ?. Adam

AdamJon, The HTK 2000 is the predecessor to the ETK 2001 v1.1. If you tried to install the HTK it would eliminate the ETK. When you install the ETK it eliminates (deletes) the HTK. It tells you it's doing this when it's installing the ETK. The ETK, as far as I can tell, is the exact same thing with some additional info. on the up to date models including the bikes, and Mini Coopers. You can access the same info from the ETK on the earlier models simply by using the VIN approach (last 7 digits) to the model designation, and then going to the vehicle ID screen after it has acknowledged the VIN #. At that point it's simply the HTK in a new wrapper. Thank you again for the Leatherique sample !! Adam Let me know if you still want to try it out.
AdamOh by the way, for those that have the TIS, and haven't been able to access the E23 info. Do the same thing as I described above. Enter the last 7 digits of your VIN to get the TIS to acknowledge the model, and then go to vehicle ID. Then select your car, year, production, manual / auto, # of doors etc., and you're off to the races. Interesting how the newer software looks over it's shoulder. Nice. Well done BMW. Adam.
