I'm Hot!!
Victor PrasadOk guys, My car runs at about 3/4 on the temp guage on a semi warm day. Is this normal?? Don's car usually averages 1/3 to 1/2 way. I used to boil over in the summer months. I have done the following: New radiator, new water pump, new fan clutch, new 74 deg thermostat, new (colder) auxilary fan switches, leak down test for about 12hrs, and the chemical that turns orange if there is any trace of carbon dioxide test. Any thoughts??
cliffois your motor running lean. this can contribute to higher operating temperatures.
Jon 86 745 MSVictor, do you have a temp gauge. I have noticed that what you think you have on the cluster gauge is not always what it is. Have you ever checked the A housing to see if you might have a corrosion hole between the two chambers? This can cause water to pass aroung the thermostat and not get back to the radiator. dnliiiO.K Jon- Its not fair to tell us to check the A Housing when its not listed in the owners manual! I won't even start to tell you what an A Housing means here in San Francisco. Don
