| warren davis | I'm a newly registered owner. Anyone out there know the following symptons:
1) When cold, the transmission wont upshift for a couple of miles
2) When hot the transmission locks in "slush" mode - 3rd gear. Sometimes this won't happen for 50-100 miles.
I need to fix and don't want to "train" a mechanic who isn't familiar with the problem. THANKS. Great web site.

| Afshin-Switzerland | When was the last time that you've drained the ATF and replaced the filter ? What you're discribing has happend to more than a fellow out there and most of the time, it's just a matter of stucked valves ....

| cliffo | check the electrical plug on the left side of the gearbox for correct fitting, ie- inserted properly and that there is no oil on the contacts. sounds like what happened to me a while back, took a qualified mechanic an afternoon of mucking around to identify what in the end was a simple problem and an easy fix.
