What is your experience with 745i heads? Most M30 heads have m8 exhaust studs. From what I can tell, the 745 should have m10 studs for the most part, with a few m8's thrown in. Is this the list consensus? What about the material? Are they stainless or plain steel?
Thanks,
rlh

| Jon 86 745 MS | 745 has all 10 mm exhaust studs. As for the valves the 745 has special exhaust valves from a special alloy sodium filled. The head of the 745 is also ported and polished from the factory. Ported meaning removing any seams or cast flashing.

Thanks for the 411. My parts book shows three m8 studs and nine m10 studs. I couldn't figure why they would have two different sizes. That's why I asked. Do you know if the studs or stainless or are they plain old steel?
Thanks,
Robert

| Jon 86 745 MS | Heat treated alloy. If you break one off and have to get it out it is one pure D &%#& to remove. Just ask me how I know. Been there done that and I did not even get a tee shirt.
The three 8 mm studs are for the wastegate elbow connector.
